Men in Lace

Pink and orange will make its mark more than ever in men's wear this spring, so why not lace too? Sewn from fine English spun lace over black silk, these grandiose ties by Marwood would be a newfangled addition to wardrobes from urban hipsters to sophisticated gentlemen.Marwood will be unveiling the lacy Fall/Winter 2011 collection in June.

Silver-Plated Sleeve

Philippe Audibert's silver-plated sleeve with Swarovski crystals is the ultimate arm adornment. Balance this dazzling, dramatic piece with an asymmetric ruffle dress and bejeweled leather sandals to give a glamorous evening ensemble a fiercely fabulous edge.

Long Live Lanvin

The Spring collection From Lanvin features insect jewelry, done with a modern edge, in every shape and form. Butterflies, moths and flies found themselves on bracelets – metal or leather cuffs, on necklaces – chokers, satin tie or body harnesses, and on little brooches, so longing for a jacket lapel.

Moet & Chandon introduces a 'Tagging' bottle of champagne, including a Moet paint pen to help your creation along. What a great Valentine's Day gift for a "Girlie Girl"

Balmain Fall/Winter 2011

For Fall/Winter 2011 Balmain continues on with their street influenced, luxury looks. Premium materials in supreme cuts abound in their collections – as is clearly evident in the pea coats and leather bombers. I admire being able to pull of the skinny pant, look with the finished layered look.

Photography - Joshua Pestka

I am enjoying the color trend in makeup this spring. I have always been a fan of color applied correctly. This look can be worn day and night.....play with tone on tone colors for upper and lower eye lids, lilac with purple, baby pink with fuchsia, and lime green with kelly green...the combinations are endless!!!

'Climate Change is Not a Illusion'

Monday in Milan, Vivienne Westwood's collection demanded the attention be on the studious and the highbrow attitude driven. His entire collection was inspired by intellectual students.  Intermingling and uniting the oxford shirt with standard Westwood over sized collars, club blazer-inspired bomber jackets, made-up university crests and double breasted jackets kept the show smart. Three-piece suits came out on cigar smoking models who wore red lipstick and finger waves, reminiscent of Ruth Harriet Louise, Joan Crawford and the Jazz Age. 'Climate Change is Not a Illusion' was seen as a gigantic back drop.

Half Deck Shoes

An interesting hybrid comes from the Mihara Yasuhiro Half Deck Shoes from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

The Half Deck footwear is an common sense blend of the classy, brogue, stiff leather wingtip style and laid back boat shoes. I love is this collection because of the flexible, relaxed feature  and seamless fusion in the design.

No Hearts Needed

With Valentine's day quickly approaching, many men are in decision mode when it comes to selecting a Valentine's gift for someone special. When most men purchase jewelry for this occasion, a pair of heart earrings, a heart ring or a heart necklace is what they leave the jewelry store with. I'm not one to fancy adorning myself with hearts and I know I'm not alone. Nothing personal against hearts, their just not my personal taste. I am absolutely in love with this gold bracelet, Tasaki by Thakoon, has designed a fashionably chic way to show a sign of commitment. $2,100 at 312-587-1000

"Lou Lou"

Once again "Lou Lou", my pet name for masterful shoe maker Christian Louboutin, has done it again. Just in time for spring Louboutin released the "Lady Clou". This 5.5 inch heel, white sling-back accessorized with silver spikes around its edges, a bow, and the infamous signature red sole not only shows off your "good girl gone fashion"sense, but also enhances the sleekness of your legs. The Louboutin "Lady Clou" pump is in stores now.

Leather and Chains

I've always been a fan of the textural mix of leather and chains. Amalia Mattaor took the worrisome issue of holding your purse while dancing in the club and created a collection of shoulder bags titled "Dancing Bags". These bags cling to the wearer and are worn on the shoulder. Fish leather, studs and chains adorn these bags demanding to be the main attraction of your outfit.
"Dancing Bags exemplify what can happen when creativity, luxury, and sexiness hold hands"(high snobette)

Gold Rush

Just in time for the Chinese New Year (Year of the Rabbit), "Gold Rush" by Benjamin Kanarek should grace the pages of Harper's Bazaar. The richness of the spread boast the countries most formidable color......even on the lips and nails of the models.

Military Royality

Seductive colors, gold fringe, precious stones, shiny medals and "toy soldier-like" military uniforms, lend an elegant royal twist to model Ashley Smith's Vogue Gioiello spread. I am absolutely floored by the attention given to every inch of fabric and feminine lines from labels such as D&G, Etro and others. Ashley was perfectly styled by fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia. Consider me enlisted!!!

McQueen and Puma Married!!!

Puma and Alexander McQueen marry their creative talents and drive into creating a line using Hiking’ as the central theme, with a graphic story featuring jagged lines and sharp contrasts to represent mountain range silhouettes. Building on the Alexander McQueen Elevation, this ankle boot uses the same sporty, elevated wedge tooling and updates it for the winter season. The upper is constructed using an inner lo cut shoe with the addition of an ankle wrap that starts from the heel of the shoe and wraps around to envelop the ankle. Made from the softest nappa leather the ankle piece is secured in place by a Velcro strap and hidden eyelets that lace through from the vamp. The vamp and quarters are soft milled goat leather with exaggerated eyelets through which a hiking-inspired flecked lace runs.

Spring Makeup Trends 2011

Thicker, Darker, Brows

I was never a fan of the lighter eye brow trend which seemed to take off and spread like a pandemic. The whole purpose of the brow is to frame the face. A face with deliberate, lighter brows is like drawing a picture, coloring it all in, without outlining your work of art. I was so happy to see the Naomi Preizler Metal 22 Magazine putting the darker, bushy brows back in the fashionable spotlight.

Eyes Scream Bight

Steal the brightness from the sun when you walk into any room with bold, bright shadows. Play with different shades and shapes until you find the one that tickles your fancy.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Eyeshadow in Green With Envy, $9.99, available at Ulta; Make Up Forever 12 Flash Color Case, $95, available at Sephora; NARS Single Eyeshadow in Grenadines, $23, available at NARS Cosmetics; Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Tropicalia, $33, available at Sephora.

Blushing Beauty

From intense pinks, corals to gold shimmer give your cheeks a healthy glow this spring. Lightly brush on softer colors for a day look and graduate to deeper colors for evening.

Cle de Peau Cheek Color Duo in #5, $47, available at Neiman Marcus; NARS Cream Blush in Gold Member, $26, available at NARS Cosmetics; Smashbox Masquerade Creamy Cheek Duo, $29, available at Sephora.
